Alba Synchrotron
ALBA is the only synchrotron light source in Spain. The light it produces from a complex of accelerators makes it possible to visualize and analyze matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, it receives more than 2,400 researchers of different nationalities for advanced studies in biomedicine, nanotechnology, materials science, new energies, environmental sciences, and chemistry. Managed by the Consortium for the Construction, Equipment, and Exploitation of the Synchrotron Light Laboratory (CELLS) and co-financed by the Spanish Government and the Generalitat de Catalunya, the ALBA Synchrotron is a unique scientific and technical infrastructure (ICTS) and a driving force for industrial innovation.
