International Cooperation
Sant Cugat serves as a mentor city in technical cooperation projects with municipalities worldwide. Notably, it has established an alliance with Cotacachi (Ecuador), implementing a digital citizen service system inspired by the local OAC model. It has also collaborated with Tarija (Bolivia) on waste management and with Petén (Guatemala) on environmental education and treatment infrastructure. These initiatives position Sant Cugat as a global reference in municipal knowledge transfer and innovation applied to resource-limited contexts.
Who promotes the Innovation Alliance
The alliance is made up of local and regional public bodies, global innovation centers from different sectors, business associations, and universities and technology and science centers in the region.
